Cargo insurance

Cargo insurance is one of the main types of insurance. It has arisen enough long ago, since almost any movement of goods or other material values from one place to another involves different risks. In the XVII century. in London the world’s first community of professional marine insurers was created, which after a while turned into the so-called London insurance market. The goods are insured against the risks of damage or loss during transportation. When moving goods from a manufacturer (exporter) to a consumer (importer) using transport services, it may be exposed to the risk of complete or partial loss or damage (damage), which will bring material damage to the sender-exporter. To avoid this, the risk is insured by paying for this service its cost (insurance premium), usually a fraction of a percent of the value of the cargo. Cargoes are insured for the duration of direct transportation.
